Terms and conditions

These terms apply to work carried out by BA Design and Build unless we agree something different in writing.

Quotations

Quotes are given in writing after a site visit and are based on the scope described in them. A quote is valid for 30 days. Where work is priced per room or per element, the itemised breakdown in the quote defines what is included. Guide prices shown on the website for house moves and garden renovation are indicative only and are not a fixed quote.

Variations

If you ask for additional work, or if conditions are found that could not reasonably be seen at the time of quoting (for example damp, rot, or failed plaster behind a covering), we will tell you before continuing and agree any change in price with you.

Access and preparation

You agree to provide reasonable access to the property, and access to power and water where needed. We will move and protect furniture where it is safe to do so; please tell us in advance about fragile, valuable or heavy items.

Materials and colours

Where you choose colours or materials, please confirm them in writing before we order. Colours can appear different under different lighting, and we recommend approving a sample or test area first.

Timescales

We give realistic start and completion dates with the quote. Exterior work depends on weather, because coatings need suitable conditions to cure, and we will keep you informed if dates move for that reason.

Payment

Payment terms are set out in your quote. Larger jobs may include a materials deposit and staged payments. Final payment is due on completion unless agreed otherwise.

Completion and snagging

We walk round the finished work with you. Anything not to the agreed standard will be put right. Please raise any concerns promptly so we can attend while the job is fresh.

Guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for the period stated in your quote. The guarantee covers our work, not damage, misuse, movement of the building, or failure of a substrate we advised against painting over.

Cancellation

If you cancel after materials have been ordered or bespoke joinery has been started, we may charge for those costs. Where you engage us as a consumer away from our premises, you have statutory cancellation rights, which are not affected by these terms.
